About the Velocity Program

Velocity is Radical Ventures’ internal platform function, purpose-built to help our early- and growth-stage portfolio companies accelerate their key growth milestones. The program delivers dedicated, AI-first company-building expertise across talent and recruiting, compute, go-to- market, brand, and finance and governance. Our team includes experienced founders, operators, and AI leaders who understand the unique challenges facing high-growth AI businesses.

The Role

We are seeking a Director, Velocity Operations to lead the strategic and operational delivery of Radical’s Velocity platform. This is a leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of portfolio company support — from onboarding through ongoing engagement — as well as founder satisfaction, portfolio health insights, and team management. As a day-to-day face of Velocity, you will be a trusted point of contact for our founders — building strong relationships and ensuring they can readily access Radical’s expertise to be helpful throughout their growth journey. You will also partner closely with the investment team to mobilize Velocity’s resources in support of new investments — showcasing Radical’s value-add to founders during diligence — and help shape emerging initiatives, including our discovery program and incubation strategy.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, operationally rigorous leader who excels at building and running programs in high-performance environments. You are comfortable managing senior stakeholder relationships from both startup and corporate realms, maintaining high output quality across a broad mandate, and developing the people around you.

Key Responsibilities

Velocity Program Operations

  • Manage the end-to-end portfolio onboarding experience, ensuring founders are connected to the right resources and support from day one through ongoing engagement.

  • Serve as a trusted partner to founders — building strong, enduring relationships and ensuring they can easily access Radical’s expertise, network, and resources to support their growth journey.

  • Own founder satisfaction across Velocity engagement — defining how it is measured, gathering structured feedback, and acting on it to continuously raise the quality and impact of the program.

  • Own Velocity's data systems and reporting infrastructure — maintaining data quality, surfacing portfolio health insights that flag risks and opportunities early, and producing regular activity reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain portfolio-facing resources and materials, ensuring they reflect the current state of the portfolio and meet the standards expected by founders and investors.

  • Support budget management across Velocity.

Investment Team Partnership & Deal Support

  • Partner with the investment team to coordinate and deploy Velocity resources during the evaluation of new investments, demonstrating Radical’s differentiated value-add to founders through diligence and competitive processes.

  • Translate Velocity’s capabilities — across talent and recruiting, compute, go-to-market brand, and finance and governance — into tailored value propositions that help Radical win priority deals.

  • Capture proof points and case studies from existing portfolio engagements to strengthen Radical’s positioning with prospective founders.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Activate Velocity in the rollout of new Radical initiatives, including the firm’s discovery program and incubation strategy.

  • Partner with leadership to pilot, refine, and scale new forms of portfolio support, building the operating model and infrastructure to deliver them repeatably.

People Management

  • Lead and develop a team of operations professionals — setting clear objectives, providing ongoing coaching, and conducting regular performance reviews.

What You Bring

Required

  • 7–10 years of experience in operations, program management, or a related function, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or a high-growth technology company.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs and managing teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

  • Strong organizational and process instincts — you build systems that scale and hold teams accountable to high standards.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills; you communicate clearly and credibly with founders, investors, and senior executives.

  • A genuine relationship-builder who earns founders’ trust, anticipates their needs, and connects them to the right expertise and resources to be helpful throughout their growth journey.

  • Proven ability to produce executive-quality materials (presentations, reports) with a high bar for clarity and polish.

  • Experience reporting on program performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with investment, deal, or commercial teams — translating operational capabilities into a clear, compelling value proposition for founders or clients.

  • Fluency with data systems and reporting tools, with a track record of turning operational data into insights that drive decisions.

Bonus

  • Prior experience in a VC platform, portfolio operations, or founder-facing capacity.

  • Familiarity with the AI landscape and an interest in how AI companies scale.

  • Experience managing scientific advisory networks or technical communities.

  • Exposure to company-building, incubation, or new-venture creation, whether as a founder, operator, or program lead.

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.

Why Join Radical?
