Head of Platform Role
We are seeking a person to be the Head of Platform for Pruven. In this role, the person will help cultivate, engage and manage our LP network that comprises of some of the largest incumbents in Financial Services and Insurance. This is an opportunity to lead our LP engagement and value creation platform that will serve as the core of Pruven’s value proposition to our portfolio companies in helping them turbo charge their GTM in verticals like Insurance and Financial services.
In essence, this is a highly strategic and commercial role on both sides of our platform. You’ll meet daily with leaders across our LPs to demonstrate relevance and understand their needs and opportunities. You’ll work with our investment team to help find the best companies that can help support our LPs (including our pipeline and portfolio companies), and you’ll lean in to help our startups accelerate their GTM and commercial traction.
Location
The position is full time and will be based in Palo Alto. Our entire team is based out of the Bay Area and our model is in-person, work from office, 5 days a week out of our Palo alto office.
What You’ll Do
LP & Portfolio Engagement
- Execute the Pruven playbook for creating a “durable” engagement model with our LPs
- Identify relevant BUs and Functions within our LPs that are lean-in around frontier tech and startups and serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between our LPs and Pruven / startups
- Create a regular cadence of engagement with business unit and functional leaders across our LP partners to identify and understand their strategic priorities
- Work closely with Investment team to identify relevant companies (from our portfolio and pipeline) that can be a good fit for the qualified needs of our LPs and drive commercial outcomes for our portfolio companies
- Manage the various workstreams around POCs/pilots/commercial deals between our portfolio companies and our LPs in partnership with the Pruven investment team
- Create a regular cadence and pipeline of demo days and related workshops with our LPs to showcase startups that address our LPs’ needs
Content Creation
- Partner with the investment team and utilize internal and external market research to develop emerging technology, fintech, insurtech and venture capital trends to create compelling and insightful content for distribution to our LP partners
- Help synthesize relevant industry trends and distill them into powerful, meaningful insights for our LP partners and their business units
- Consult with our LP partners on innovation strategy in partnership with the Pruven investment team and startup community
The Ideal Candidate
Experience: 8-10 years of professional experience
- Supporting clients in the technology, financial services and / or insurance verticals at a leading consulting firm
- Working in the Innovation function within Financial services and Insurance companies
- Leading Business Development and platform-related functions that required partnering with Financial services and Insurance ecosystems
- Leading the platform and portfolio business development functions at a VC firm
Skills
- Proven ability to build diverse, valuable networks, partnerships and communities where success is created thru the careful cultivation of influence and trust
- Ability to work with large incumbents across organizational siloes and hierarchies
- High degree of comfort and familiarity with the business model and key trends/challenges in Financial Services and Insurance is a plus
- Ability to synthesize trends, build frameworks and deliver content to stakeholders quickly and autonomously
- Hands-on ability to make the trains run on time and juggle multiple threads simultaneously
- Low ego, high EQ and a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and work ethic
- Demonstrated passion for technology, startups, and scaling from 0 to 1
