Overwater Ventures

Overwater Ventures was founded by Kristina Simmons after her experience building and advising brands and investing in early-stage companies revealed a need for a more founder-focused kind of venture firm. Drawing on her operating work at lululemon and investment experience at Andreessen Horowitz and Khosla Ventures, Simmons created a firm intended to help technical founders turn promising ideas into companies with real-world impact.

The firm partners with pre-seed and seed-stage founders, often making an early institutional investment and helping companies move from research and development toward product launch and scale. Its investment focus includes human health and wellness, as well as healthier environments and infrastructure, with interests spanning areas such as biotechnology, AI, healthcare access, food and agriculture, energy transition, and advanced materials. Beyond capital, Overwater offers hands-on help with commercialization, go-to-market strategy, fundraising, marketing, and connections to experts and investors.
