About the Company
OnePrime Capital is a technology investment firm based in Palo Alto, CA. Founded in 2017, we manage approximately $1 billion in assets. We run a concentrated technology secondaries strategy, investing in late-stage private technology companies through secondary direct transactions, LP interests, structured equity and primary investments. Our focus areas include AI, cybersecurity, enterprise software, fintech and data infrastructure.
About the Role
OnePrime Capital is hiring a Strategic Finance professional to support fundraising, portfolio analysis and fund planning. You will work with the partners and the investment, investor relations and operations teams to prepare investor materials, assess portfolio performance and build models to inform how the firm raises and deploys capital. This role is suited to someone early in their career, ideally from strategic finance or management consulting, who wants broad experience inside an investment firm. The work will range from preparing for an LP meeting to analyzing an exit scenario or evaluating the size of a future fund. Responsibilities will develop with your experience and the firm’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance and Fund Planning
- Build and update models for deployment pacing, reserves, liquidity and fund sizing, including fee and carried interest economics.
- Compare fund performance and strategy with relevant benchmarks and peers.
- Prepare analysis for partner discussions about future funds, co-investments and other investment products.
- Support market research and financial analysis for investment opportunities and other firm projects as priorities require.
Portfolio Analysis
- Work with the investment and operations teams to maintain company and fund analyses using portfolio KPIs, financial results, financing activity and valuation data.
- Analyze the drivers of fund performance and model how changes in company outcomes, exit timing and valuations affect returns and distributions.
- Support quarterly valuations and portfolio reviews with comparable company analysis and secondary market pricing data.
Capital Formation
- Prepare fundraising presentations, due diligence questionnaires and responses to prospective investors, drawing on the firm’s portfolio and performance data.
- Keep fundraising data rooms and investor materials current and consistent with underlying records.
- Research prospective LPs and co-investors, maintain the fundraising pipeline and coordinate meeting preparation and follow-up.
- Prepare quarterly investor updates and materials for the Annual General Meeting, including analysis of portfolio developments and fund performance.
Qualifications
- Typically 2–4 years in strategic finance or management consulting. Relevant experience in corporate development, FP&A or investment banking is also welcome.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build a model from scratch, check its assumptions and explain the results.
- Clear written communication and the ability to prepare well-organized presentations for investors and partners.
- Attention to detail in financial analysis and investor materials, with a habit of checking figures against source data.
- Comfort taking on unfamiliar problems, asking useful questions and managing several projects as priorities change.
- Interest in technology companies and private markets. Prior fundraising or fund experience is helpful but not required.
- Comfort learning CRM, reporting and AI tools to improve recurring work. Experience with business intelligence tools is a plus.
