About our Company

Nimbus Synergies is a $30M evergreen Seed fund in Vancouver catalyzing Canadian health technology startups whose investees have collectively generated >$150M in revenue annually and impacted over 10M lives. Nimbus invests in companies using technology to improve outcomes, increase efficiencies, and lower costs in healthcare. We aspire to improve health through Canadian-led innovation.

We are hands-on, thesis-driven investors who support entrepreneurs through the highs and lows of building in this uniquely complex sector. We are now seeking a Principal to join our investment team, someone who combines sharp analytical and deal instincts with a deep passion for health innovation.

Role Overview

As a Principal, you’ll play a pivotal role in the firm’s investment efforts: sourcing and evaluating new opportunities, driving diligence, and supporting portfolio companies post-investment. You’ll also help shape sector theses, mentor associates, and contribute to firm-building initiatives as we scale.

This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior investment professional – a current Principal or a strong Senior Associate ready to take the next step – eager to take on greater ownership and leadership responsibility.

Please apply by sending your resume to: arushi@nimbusinc.vc and title your email subject line as: “Application – Principal (Your Name)” to ensure your application is reviewed promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Execution

  • Identify and originate promising early-stage health technology companies through proactive sourcing, ecosystem engagement, and AI-enabled deal intelligence.

  • Lead due diligence efforts, including market, product, financial, and team analysis.

  • Build and maintain detailed investment models, conduct sensitivity analyses, and prepare investment memos for IC review.

  • Support negotiation and execution of investment transactions, typically at the Seed and Series A stages.

Portfolio Support

  • Partner with founders to support key operational, strategic, and fundraising initiatives.

  • Track portfolio performance, develop metrics dashboards, and identify areas for value creation.

  • Serve as board observer or advisor where appropriate.

Firm Strategy & Platform Development

  • Contribute to fund theses, sector deep dives, and investment strategy development.

  • Help enhance internal processes through automation and AI tools for sourcing, diligence, and data management.

  • Represent the firm externally at conferences, pitch events, and within the health innovation ecosystem to strengthen brand and deal flow.

Team & Culture

  • Mentor and guide junior investment professionals and interns.

  • Collaborate closely with Partners to refine investment theses and pipeline strategy.

  • Uphold a culture of integrity, intellectual curiosity, and value creation.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Venture Capital / Investment Experience: 5–8 years in venture capital, growth equity, or strategic investing—preferably in healthcare or health tech.

  • Health Tech Expertise: Strong understanding of the health technology landscape, including digital health, data platforms, AI/ML in health, and medical devices with software components.

  • Analytical Rigor: Proven experience in conducting diligence, building models, and supporting investment decision-making.

  • AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and data-driven tools for deal sourcing, diligence automation, market intelligence, and portfolio analytics.

  • Network Strength: Established relationships with founders, operators, and investors in the health tech ecosystem.

  • Founder Empathy: Deep understanding of the founder journey and a track record of supporting early-stage teams.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize insights and represent the firm with clarity and credibility.

  • Location: Ideally based in or willing to relocate to Vancouver; however, consideration may be given to candidates working in Toronto. We operate with hybrid flexibility, but with emphasis on in-person collaboration.

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to help shape the next generation of Canadian health technology leaders.

  • Competitive compensation in the range of $140,000 to $170,000 per year, along with a carried interest component and comprehensive benefits.

  • Exposure to full lifecycle investing, from sourcing through exit.

  • Join a small, high-performing, and values-driven team operating at the intersection of health, technology, and venture capital.

We are a small but mighty team who are passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and growing innovative companies. Our core values are integrity and honesty, providing value beyond the investments we make, and being valuable partners to our portfolio companies. We strive to make a difference while having fun.
