About the role

We’re looking for a driven and proactive individual to join our small team. This is a varied role spanning origination, operations and marketing, with the opportunity to get involved across different parts of the business. This is a great opportunity for someone hungry to build a career in the investment world. You’ll work closely with the partners, gain exposure to founders across venture capital and private equity, institutional investors and businesses, and learn how an investment firm operates from the inside. For someone ambitious who takes initiative, there will be plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow with the firm over time.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting origination by identifying and reaching out to relevant founders, service providers, advisers and others across the investment ecosystem
• Building and maintaining relationships with these contacts and helping develop new sources of investment opportunities
• Attending relevant industry events, conferences and networking opportunities, representing Nickleby and building new relationships
• Conducting research into relevant markets, sectors, companies and trends
• Helping with marketing and email campaigns
• Keeping marketing collateral, spreadsheets, trackers up to date 
• Contribute to the creation of AI workflows and deal flow optimization tools

What we’re looking for

• Some experience in a professional environment such as consulting, financial or professional services, investment, or a tech startup/scale-up is vital 
• Driven, ambitious and eager to build a career in the investment world
• Confident and personable, with the ability to build relationships with different types of people
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• A strong communicator, both in person and over email
• Creative in nature whether that's finding new ways to originate opportunities, improving our marketing or solving everyday problems
• Comfortable using Microsoft and AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, with views on how to make processes more efficient 
• Happy juggling different priorities and taking ownership of whatever needs to get done
