Position Overview Associate reporting to a Managing Partner, supporting investment diligence and analysis of portfolio companies, with opportunities to originate ideas.
Responsibilities: scientific and technical diligence; read primary literature and evaluate preclinical data; source and lead expert diligence calls; assess development and regulatory paths; conduct market and competitive analysis; build operating models, capitalization tables, financing/dilution scenarios, returns and reserve models; support portfolio companies, screening and LP reporting/market research.
Requirements: collaborative and ethical; PhD, MD or MD/PhD in a life-science discipline (MS with equivalent experience considered); 2–4 years post-degree biotech/pharma R&D, translational research, consulting, investment banking, technology transfer or life-science investment experience; strong Excel/modeling; clear writing and communication; judgment, intellectual honesty, self-direction and curiosity. Locations: New York, Philadelphia or San Diego. Base salary $140,000–$150,000 plus benefits and bonus.
