Our conviction is that investing into companies that reduce carbon, combat climate change and facilitate the economies transition to net zero is the opportunity of a lifetime. A number of factors have combined to create the right environment for the world’s transition to a green economy; Government regulation, changing corporate behaviour and consumer activism. The target portfolio of each investor will be 6-8 companies. The fund focuses on post revenue investments into early stage companies. In most cases businesses will already have a product or service in the market and will be making revenue from that product or service. I.e. the capital will be required for scale up. The majority of investments the Fund will make will be post seed and pre Series A. The overall investment size is likely to be between 500,000 GBP and 1000,000 GBP.

Our Venture Builder programme and Venture Launchpad programme are specifically designed for founders to develop startups targeted at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale. Three programme choices Through these programmes, we support founders at all stages of start-up development, from the very beginning of ideas and co-founder teaming, through to pre-seed investment and scale. But unlike traditional accelerators, when you start a programme with Carbon13, you will be pushed to achieve our minimum target of emissions mitigation potential of 10 million tonnes of CO2e per year when at scale. We can enable founders to aim this high because our programmes are built on a world class ecosystem of climatetech and carbon experts, partners and investors. It takes a community to build a startup. You’re welcome to join ours. Venture Builder UK The Venture Builder is for those seeking co-founders and at the earliest stage of their journey – you don’t even need a startup idea. The programme is eight months long with successful ventures benefitting from early investment. Founders can participate from anywhere in the world, except for a short in-person introduction period in Cambridge. Venture Builder Europe The Venture Builder in Europe uses the same Carbon13 approach as the UK, but is intended for founders resident, or who are able to work, in the EU. The programme is eight months long with a small in-person introduction period in Berlin. Venture Launch pad The Venture Launchpad is an eighteen week accelerator for established teams who haven’t raised equity finance yet but are looking to do so. The programme is 100% remote and can be done from anywhere in the world.
