Role Description

The VC Intern (Fall) role is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting the investment and portfolio operations of LvlUp Ventures. Day-to-day tasks may include sourcing potential startup investments, conducting market and competitive research, and assisting with preliminary due diligence on prospective portfolio companies. The intern will help prepare investment memos and presentations, track portfolio performance metrics, and support internal reporting and knowledge management. This role also involves collaborating with team members on special projects, assisting with ecosystem and corporate partner outreach, and contributing to internal tools and processes that enhance portfolio synergies. The intern will gain exposure to a wide range of sectors and stages, working closely with the investment team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and research abilities, including market analysis, competitive mapping, and financial data interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear investment memos, presentations, and concise summaries.
  • Proficiency with productivity and data tools (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, CRM or pipeline tracking tools) and comfort learning new software.
  • Interest in venture capital, startups, and innovation across multiple sectors, with the ability to quickly grasp new business models and technologies.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a remote, part-time setting.
  • Collaborative mindset and professionalism, including the ability to work effectively with a global, distributed team and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience (internships, projects, or extracurriculars) in startups, finance, consulting, or technology is preferred but not required.
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Economics, STEM, or related disciplines) is beneficial.
