We are expanding our presence in China with the establishment of a China Plus Fund, primarily deploying a fund of funds strategy focused on deep tech and biotech investments in China, and are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our Shenzhen office as part of our global team.

We are actively seeking a Venture Investment Analyst (Shenzhen) to be part of our China Plus Fund. The ideal candidate is intellectually rigorous, proactive, and passionate about early-stage and growth-stage technology and biotechnology investing. This role offers direct exposure to investment decision-making and founder engagement.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
Sourcing & Ecosystem Development
Source high-potential VCs and startups across Shenzhen, the Greater Bay Area, and broader China
Build and maintain relationships with founders, VCs, incubators, research institutions, and industry operators
Actively network at industry events, demo days, and technology conferences
Develop sector expertise and collateral across Deep Tech (e.g., AI & Next Gen Infotech, Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics, Semiconductors & Advanced Computing) and BioTech/HealthTech (e.g., Biopharmaceuticals, Digital Health, Medical Devices & MedTech)
Diligence & Investment Execution
Support investment team across the full investment lifecycle: sourcing, screening, diligence, IC preparation, and post-investment support
Conduct fund due diligence, financial analysis, business model assessment, and competitive benchmarking
Evaluate cap tables, financing structures, and shareholder dynamics
Assess regulatory and cross-border structuring considerations (VIEs, offshore SPVs, export controls)
Prepare investment memos and presentation materials for internal decision-making
Research & Thematic Development
Develop investment theses around emerging technology sectors
Conduct deep market mapping and trend analysis
Monitor China regulatory developments and geopolitical considerations affecting portfolio companies
Contribute to internal strategy discussions and investment pipeline reviews
Portfolio Support
Track portfolio KPIs and performance metrics
Support invested VCs and portfolio companies with strategic research and market intelligence
Assist with follow-on financing preparation and investor materials
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or related field
1–3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or high-growth startups
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Knowledge of VC financials metrics, cap tables, startup financing rounds, and growth metrics
Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) and English (written and spoken) communication skills
SOFT SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with VCs, founders and ecosystem stakeholders
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and dynamic markets
High intellectual curiosity and long-term interest in venture capital
Strong integrity, discretion, and professional maturity
Willingness to travel primarily within China
