International Airlines Group
IAG, parent of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus and LEVEL, backs aviation technology startups through its IAGi accelerator and venture investment programmes.
International Airlines Group (IAG) is a British-Spanish multinational airline holding company, founded in 2011 and headquartered in London with a registered office in Madrid. Beyond its airline operating companies, IAG engages with the venture ecosystem through IAGi, its accelerator for aviation technology startups, and through venture investment programmes. The group's stated areas of interest map to its core technical domains: commercial aviation, airline operations, air cargo logistics, loyalty programmes, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), emissions reduction and net zero strategy, and central shared services platforms.
The group's structure is described as a light centre with agile, empowered airline operating companies - British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus and LEVEL - each accountable for its own results, supported by IAG Loyalty, IAG Cargo and a central platform intended to deliver advantages through scale and shared expertise. Leadership positions are held in the home markets of London, Madrid, Barcelona and Dublin. This structure means startups within the IAG orbit can engage with both individual operating companies and group-level shared services.
Scale is considerable: IAG serves 285 destinations across 93 countries with a fleet of 627 aircraft, carrying more than 122 million customers annually and employing over 75,000 people globally. Reported revenue for 2025 was €33,213 million. Route networks span North Atlantic, South Atlantic and intra-European markets.
Sustainability is a core pillar of strategy. Through Flightpath Net Zero, IAG has committed to net zero emissions by 2050 - the first airline group globally to do so - including commitments to sustainable aviation fuel. Startups working on decarbonisation, SAF and emissions reduction sit squarely within the group's stated priorities, alongside opportunities in cargo logistics and loyalty.
