Innova

Early-stage venture capital firm, founded in 2007, backing AgTech and FarmTech founders with pre-seed to Series A cheques of $250,000 to $2 million.

Innova is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in agricultural and farm technology. Founded in 2007, it backs founders building AgTech and FarmTech innovations, typically writing a company's first institutional check at pre-seed, seed and Series A. Initial cheques generally range from $250,000 to $2 million.

The firm's technical scope spans four areas: agricultural inputs (seed, feed, crop protection and biologicals); robotics and autonomy, framed as labour technologies; on-farm sensing and instrumentation; and agricultural data and decision software. Across these categories, Innova has backed 39 AgTech companies and invested $40 million in the sector since inception. Its stated objective is to make farming more profitable, with an emphasis on backing innovations that farmers actually want.

Beyond capital, the firm works alongside founders post-investment and connects portfolio companies with people and networks across the agricultural system to help them reach farmers. Its own investors include institutions and organisations from across that system. Innova maintains a presence in Austin, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee, with activity extending into rural United States.
