ICF Capital
ICF Capital manages venture and growth funds, including fund investments and growth capital, supporting innovative companies in Catalonia as the venture arm of ICF, the Catalan public development bank founded in 1985.
ICF Capital is the venture and growth investment arm of ICF, the Government of Catalonia's public development bank, established in 1985. The unit manages venture and growth investment funds supporting innovative companies in Catalonia, with a mandate that combines direct investment in companies - through growth capital - with investment in funds, thereby channelling capital into the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem. Its operating remit sits within a broader public development banking function that spans medium- and long-term lending and credit guarantees.
Within that structure, ICF Capital's activity is one strand of a three-part financing offering: loans to self-employed workers, SMEs, large companies, associations and public and private sector organisations; guarantee instruments designed to ease access to finance; and venture capital in the form of growth capital and fund investments. The lending book covers areas including sustainability, industry, housing, the social sector, culture, tourism, innovation and the public sector - verticals that also frame the economic landscape in which its portfolio companies operate.
As a public development bank, ICF's stated role is to complement private finance rather than substitute for it, serving a broad segment range from the self-employed to large corporates and supporting long-term repayment and strategic projects tied to Catalonia's economic transformation. The institution reports having financed more than 37,000 customers. Its geographic focus is Catalonia, Spain.
