Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

Berlin, Berlin, GermanyFull-time54m ago

HV is one of the leading early-stage and growth investors in Europe. With nine fund generations since 2000 and €2.8 bn in managed assets, HV is one of the continent's most active investors. The investment team has many years of experience in identifying European startups with great potential for success.

In addition to international success stories like Zalando, Delivery Hero, Sumup, and Depop, the portfolio also includes innovation leaders such as Enpal, Flixbus, Sennder, and Isar Aerospace. HV has invested in around 225 internet and technology companies, supporting startups with ticket sizes ranging from €0.5 to €60m. It is one of Europe's few venture capital firms that can finance startups through all growth phases.

HV has a team of more than 60 investment and operations professionals who offer diverse perspectives and expertise across the venture capital landscape.

We're hiring a Marketing Manager to join HV's marketing and comms team.

This role blends event coordination, content production, and marketing execution. Working closely with and under the direction of our VP Marketing, you'll help deliver HV's extensive events program and support the campaigns and content that serve the portfolio and strengthen HV's brand.

You'll play a hands-on role in supporting HV's events calendar of nearly 100 events a year, from networking dinners and founder-focused webinars to our annual flagship summit. Working alongside the VP Marketing, who sets the strategy and concepts, you'll help coordinate vendors, venues, catering, invitations, and RSVP pages, and support execution on the day.

Social media and content are also part of the role, supporting the projects the team runs. You'll help produce LinkedIn posts, event pages, invitations, and post-event recaps.

You'll also gain exposure to other areas of the marketing function, including supporting campaigns around funding announcements and contributing to our newsletter and LinkedIn presence.

You'll work hands-on with tools like Claude to streamline briefs, coordination checklists, and communications, while gaining a close-up view of how a venture capital brand is built and positioned.

A note on trade-offs: because we intentionally keep the team lean, this role offers a less traditional career ladder than you'd find at a larger marketing organisation. Instead, it offers unusually broad access and exposure to unique startups, agencies, and companies, plus close mentorship from our VP Marketing as you build your skills.

Responsibilities

Support HV's events function under the direction of the VP Marketing: help with vendor coordination, logistics, and day-of execution across a calendar spanning dinners, portfolio events, webinars, and industry conferences. You’ll have the chance to take full ownership of select events. Help project-manage events from kick-off to debrief: assist with concepts, coordinate content and speakers as needed, source venues and vendors, and support pre- and post-event communications, including event landing pages and social recap posts. Help track relevant conferences, summits, and communities in the European VC/startup ecosystem, and support the process of securing attendance and speaking slots. Use AI to speed up day-to-day tasks: use Claude to help draft briefs, event comms, and social media posts. Support broader marketing coordination tasks, including website updates, social media graphics, and newsletter production.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience with a strong project management track record, ideally organising events, off-sites, or multi-stakeholder projects within VC, startups, or a comparable European ecosystem player. Demonstrated organisational skills: you can follow a plan, help manage a budget, coordinate with multiple vendors and stakeholders, and hit deadlines with guidance from the team. A genuine grasp of the European VC/startup event landscape, you know what events like Slush, WebSummit, Bits & Pretzels, or Sifted Summit look like from the inside, and understand how firms secure visibility and speaking opportunities at them. Comfort owning lightweight content that supports your events (event pages, invites, recap posts. A real affinity for working with AI: you already use tools like Claude or ChatGPT to work faster and better, and you're excited to help build AI into how our events operation runs. Experience with, or eagerness to quickly learn, Luma, Monday, Figma, Canva, Mailchimp, and similar tools. Excellent written and spoken English; German is a nice-to-have. A collaborative, organised approach. This is a lean team, so clear communication and follow-through matter.

We're especially keen to hear from candidates who don't come from a conventional marketing background. If you've supported complex events, off-sites, or operations elsewhere, we want to hear from you.
