Helsana HealthInvest

Helsana HealthInvest invests in European digital health startups on behalf of Helsana, a Swiss health and accident insurer with more than 2 million customers and CHF 7.8 billion in premium volume.

Helsana HealthInvest is the venture investment vehicle of Helsana, Switzerland's leading health and accident insurer. It invests in European digital health startups. Its parent group provides health and accident insurance covering the financial consequences of illness, accident, maternity and long-term care for individuals and companies, alongside prevention services and solutions addressing the economic consequences of work incapacity.

The scale of that platform is material: more than 2 million customers, premium volume of CHF 7.8 billion, and over 3,400 employees distributed throughout Switzerland. In corporate and association business, Helsana serves more than 60,000 companies and associations, covering approximately 700,000 insured persons. For a digital health company, this constitutes a substantial regulated distribution channel and payer relationship within a single national market.

Helsana is owned by two charitable foundations, Fondation Sana and Artisana, and describes its role as shaping the Swiss healthcare system toward a sustainable, high-quality and competitively organised model. Its stated commitments include individual customer support for healthy lifestyles and the health and quality of life of its customers. Geographic presence is concentrated in Switzerland, while HealthInvest's mandate is European digital health.
