We take a highly hands-on approach—supporting portfolio companies with go-to-market strategy, provider adoption, regulatory insight, and healthcare-specific growth execution—while maintaining strong, transparent relationships with our limited partners.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Venture Capital Summer Intern with a strong interest in venture capital, healthcare, and investor engagement to support fundraising, limited partner relations, deal sourcing, investment diligence, and portfolio support.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with physicians and healthcare executives, learning how venture funds raise capital, and gaining direct exposure to early-stage investing.
You will work closely with the General Partner and investment team across the full investment and fundraising lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
Fundraising & Investor Relations (Primary Focus)
Participate in introductory and follow-up calls with potential limited partners (LPs), primarily physicians and healthcare executives
Learn to communicate Healthcare Shares’ investment strategy, portfolio construction, and healthcare theses
Support inbound investor interest and outbound outreach efforts
Assist with LP onboarding, follow-ups, and ongoing communications
Help prepare fundraising materials, investor updates, and responses to LP questions
Maintain and update investor CRM and fundraising pipeline
Deal Sourcing & Market Research
Source early-stage healthcare startups through research, inbound deal flow, and network outreach
Track trends across digital health, value-based care, provider enablement, and healthcare services
Conduct market research including market sizing, competitive analysis, and regulatory/reimbursement dynamics
Investment Diligence & Execution
Support diligence on potential investments, including:
Business models and unit economics
Go-to-market strategy
Regulatory and reimbursement considerations
Clinical workflow and physician adoption
Assist in building investment memos, scorecards, and diligence materials
Support preparation for investment committee discussions
Portfolio & Founder Support
Assist with portfolio company updates and KPI tracking
Support go-to-market and growth initiatives
Help coordinate introductions to healthcare stakeholders (providers, payers, enterprise customers)
Fund & Platform Operations
Support LP reporting and fund communications
Assist with thought leadership and content creation
Help improve internal systems including CRM, fundraising workflows, and deal tracking
