Role Overview
This is a remote, unpaid fellowship, designed as an educational opportunity for individuals with advanced healthcare expertise to gain hands-on experience in venture capital and investment analysis. You’ll source deals in healthcare sectors, conduct due diligence, participate in negotiations, and prepare investment recommendations, all while receiving mentorship and training in venture capital processes and healthcare innovation. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, analytical individual eager to learn about investment in life sciences and medtech.
Responsibilities
· Source new deals in healthcare sectors (e.g., life sciences, biotech, medical devices, medtech), with guidance on deal identification techniques.
· Conduct due diligence on healthcare projects, analyzing scientific data, intellectual property, financials, and market opportunities, while learning evaluation frameworks.
· Participate in term sheet negotiations and follow-up tasks, gaining exposure to investment deal structuring.
· Prepare recommendations for the Investment Committee, developing skills in presenting actionable insights.
Qualifications
· A Ph.D. or M.D. degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
· Prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries is highly preferred (training provided to bridge into venture capital).
· Experience in venture capital, management consulting, or business development is preferred but not required.
· Strong business writing, presentation, and communication skills (or willingness to refine).
· Ability to assess published data quality and reliability, with a keen interest in experimental details and primary research.
· Proven team player, self-motivated, proactive, and willing to work hard.
