Head of Portfolio Acceleration

Europe, Middle East, and Africa (Remote)Full-time2h ago

About the role

Green Flag Ventures is creating a dedicated portfolio acceleration function to support portfolio companies across mentorship, subject matter expertise, go-to-market, and procurement access.

You will own the European arm of GFV's portfolio acceleration function, working directly with founders and portfolio company leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Market access: Open European MoD, prime, and channel doors for portfolio companies. Translate Ukrainian battlefield credibility into NATO/EU member state procurement traction.
  • Scaling support: Work with portfolio company leadership on Europe GTM, regulatory pathways, pricing, and senior hiring.
  • Pipeline development: Use European market signals to inform GFV investment selection.
  • Ecosystem presence: Represent GFV at European defense forums and build standing in European defense investor and policy communities.
  • Co-investment partnerships: Build relationships with European defense-focused funds for syndicate construction and follow-on rounds.
  • Serve as the primary touchpoint when founders need doors opened, regulatory questions answered, or senior hires sourced.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in or around European defense procurement, primes, MoDs, NATO infrastructure, or scale-up GTM at a defense or dual-use company.
  • Commercial literacy with full-cycle experience pitching and closing contracts; prior P&L responsibility or quota-carrying experience preferred.
  • Comfort operating in a venture environment, including writing memos, running board prep, and developing opportunities for portfolio companies.
  • Based in Western Europe and willing to travel around 30% across Europe and to Kyiv.

Timeline

Applications are accepted through 15 July. Hiring decision is expected in August, with a start date of 7 September and required travel to Ukraine on 14-18 September 2026.
