We like to invest early (Seed or Series A) and keep backing founders as they grow. We'll also make standalone growth-stage investments.

About The Role

G9 is hiring an Investor to join our team. This individual will play a key role across the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and diligence to transaction execution and portfolio value creation. We're looking for someone who is endlessly curious about the consumer landscape, energized by building relationships with exceptional founders, and excited to help shape the next wave of generational brands. The role offers significant autonomy, direct interaction with founders and management teams, and direct influence over investment decisions as part of a small, collaborative team (Founding Partner, Managing Partner, and Junior Investor).

Beyond deal execution, we want someone who actively expands our network and challenges how we operate—surfacing operators and experts we don't already know and helping us continually refine how we evaluate opportunities and support our portfolio. This includes owning G9's AI adoption by partnering with our team and external partners to implement new tools, measure their impact, and refine them over time.

Location: Midtown Manhattan. In-office, five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Deal Execution

• Generate proprietary deal flow through direct outreach, founder and operator relationships, and the broader consumer ecosystem
• Lead diligence end-to-end, including financial modeling, valuation, expert calls, and competitive analysis
• Draft and present clear, well-supported investment recommendations to the team

Network & Firm Building

• Build direct relationships with advisors, agencies, service providers, category experts and other investors that G9 can call on across sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support
• Lead G9's AI adoption by implementing tools and partnering with external partners to improve sourcing, diligence, portfolio management, and firm operations
• Contribute to G9's investment thesis development by maintaining an informed point of view on emerging consumer trends, categories, and business models

Portfolio Support

• Monitor portfolio performance and track against investment milestones
• Partner with founders beyond the investment, supporting strategic initiatives, fundraising, business development, and operational priorities, with opportunities to serve as a board observer or board member

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience in buyside investing; early- or growth-stage experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is a plus
• Deep interest in the consumer investing ecosystem and the brands that define G9's strategy, with strong instincts for what makes a compelling consumer business
• Demonstrated success in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments, along with strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated leadership and a willingness to mentor junior team members
• A team player with a no-task-is-too-small mindset, a good sense of humor, and a genuine excitement for the founders and brands we support
• Proficiency in Excel, Notion, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and AI tools
