Foreword

Foreword is an early-stage venture capital fund investing globally at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm typically writes the first check or participates in the first round of technology companies, backing founders at the earliest stages rather than waiting until a business is established.

Foreword operates as a solo GP fund, led by Dec Kelly. Investment and portfolio work is conducted by the general partner rather than a multi-partner investment team - a structure that places a single decision-maker at the centre of sourcing, diligence and founder relationships.

Alongside the investment function, Foreword maintains a community of more than 200 founders and operators, which forms part of its support for portfolio companies. Named portfolio holdings include Delphi, Fyxer, Gradient Labs, Peec AI, Starcloud and Aikido. The fund's stated focus is technology investing at the earliest stage, and it invites founders building something new to get in touch.
