In addition to capital, the start-ups are supported with simplified market access (world market leaders from the Heilbronn/Southwest Germany region). We support young, innovative technology companies with capital, know-how and contacts in medium-sized industry. With the project "Move2Grow" we enable international startups for the first time to participate in the development of the economic region Heilbronn-Franken beyond our investment horizon and to settle in this highly dynamic environment. Our goal is to further develop Heilbronn into one of the most successful technology locations in Europe.

Valia is an early-stage venture capital firm with offices in New York, San Francisco and London. Fund StrategiesPre-Seed Fund: Investing $50,000 - $250,000 first checks in strong teams at the formation stages of company building. Nothing is too early for this fund - be it pre-revenue, pre-product, or even pre-pitch deck, we’re comfortable making bold early investments in standout teams. Early-Stage Fund: Investing $250,000 - $1,000,000 first checks in Seed and Series A rounds. We reserve follow-on capital, so we’re continuing to back founders as their businesses grow. This fund makes new investments, in addition to follow-on investments from our Pre-Seed Fund. Opportunity Fund: Investing larger checks in mature companies (Series B onwards) and companies that aren’t suited to the traditional venture capital fund model. Through the Opportunity Fund, we also continue to support our breakout portfolio companies from our Pre-Seed and Early-Stage funds when they raise follow-on rounds. FAQsDo you invest in companies outside of the US? Yes - although the majority of our portfolio is based in the US, we are actively looking at investments in Europe and emerging markets. Great founders exist globally, and we want to work with them regardless of their geography. When is the best time to reach out to you? As early as possible. How long is your investment process? In early-stage rounds, we aim to go from the first meeting to investment decision in two weeks. There are scenarios where we move much faster, but we believe in the importance of diligence as we’re committing to being a long-term partner to our founders. How should I get in touch? We love referrals from those we trust, but you can also reach out to our team directly and know that we do our best to review every opportunity that comes our way.

We leverage our network of over 15,000 contacts providing access to media, customers, and investors to help support and guide our portfolio companies toward quantifiable milestones. INVESTMENT SIZE Our check size ranges from $50K-$100K. We aim to invest as early as possible in pre-seed and seed rounds, and make follow-on investments to support our founders whenever possible. FUND FOCUS We are a generalist fund looking to support outstanding entrepreneurs in their journeys to massively scale their companies. GEOGRAPHY Our Headquarters are in New York City. While the bulk of our investments are in New York, our portfolio companies hail from California to Canada, from Africa to LatAm. CAPITAL DEPLOYMENT We invest in 10-12 companies per year. We reserve rights to follow on in subsequent funding rounds. FOUNDERS We are looking for founders/co-founders with a technical background and/or prior entrepreneurial experience who can self-sufficiently build a company from concept to enormous scale.
