ff Venture Capital | Fall–Spring | 10–20 hours/week

About Us

ff Venture Capital (ffVC) is a seed-first, high-touch venture capital firm investing in early-stage companies building technologies that can transform industries and millions of lives. With a focus on emerging technologies, including AI, smart manufacturing, and electrification, ffVC works closely with founders and portfolio companies from the earliest stages through growth.

The Role

ffVC is seeking a highly motivated Venture Capital & AI Research Intern to join our team for the Fall–Spring academic year. This is a 10–20 hour per week commitment, designed to work alongside an academic program or other professional commitments.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a long-term career in venture capital and wants hands-on experience across both sides of the business: evaluating investment opportunities and helping portfolio companies leverage AI and emerging technologies.

You will work closely with the ffVC team on investment research, market analysis, due diligence, and portfolio support, while also helping us identify and evaluate new AI tools, technologies, and applications.

This is not a traditional research internship. We are looking for someone who wants to understand how venture capital works from the inside and develop the judgment, analytical skills, and network needed to build a career in the industry.

What You'll Do

Venture Capital & Investment

  • Research emerging markets, technologies, and industries relevant to ffVC's investment thesis

  • Support sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities

  • Conduct market, competitive, and company research as part of the investment process

  • Assist with due diligence and preparation of investment materials

  • Participate in meetings with founders, investors, and other members of the startup ecosystem

AI Research & Portfolio Support

  • Research emerging AI tools, platforms, and technologies

  • Identify new AI companies and potential strategic partners for the ffVC portfolio

  • Work directly with portfolio companies on AI-related initiatives and use cases

Firm & Ecosystem

  • Support ffVC events, newsletter, founder programming, and ecosystem initiatives

  • Work closely with the investment team and gain exposure to the full venture capital lifecycle

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is seriously interested in pursuing venture capital as a long-term career and wants to use this internship as an opportunity to learn the business from the ground up.

You are:

  • Highly analytical and intellectually curious

  • A strong researcher and communicator

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects

  • Interested in startups, venture capital, technology, and AI

  • Excited by both investment analysis and working directly with entrepreneurs

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

Background

  • MBA preferred, particularly candidates with a strong interest in technology, entrepreneurship, finance, or venture capital, but strong undergrads will also be considered

  • Strong interest in AI and emerging technologies

  • Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills

  • Experience with financial analysis, market research, startups, or technology is a plus

Commitment

  • 10–20 hours per week

  • Fall + Spring academic year

  • Flexible scheduling around academic or professional commitments

  • Candidates should be able to consistently commit 10-20 hours to the role throughout the internship

What We Offer

  • Hands-on experience across the venture capital investment process

  • Exposure to startup sourcing, diligence, and investment analysis

  • Direct interaction with founders and portfolio companies

  • Experience researching and implementing emerging AI technologies

  • Exposure to ffVC's investment thesis and portfolio

  • Opportunities to build a network across the venture capital and startup ecosystem

  • Potential opportunities to continue working with ffVC based on performance and firm needs
