Title: Intern, Venture Capital
Reports To: Principal, Venture Capital
Location: Toronto
Compensation: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
OPPORTUNITY
This is not a traditional "investment intern" role. It's a builder role inside an investing team, with the chance to help shape a new, growing Fund of Funds platform from the ground up.
As an Intern, Venture Capital, Growth Ops & Investments, you'll spend ~75% of your time implementing off the shelf solutions or designing, building and shipping internal tools that power our investing workflows and portfolio management (CRM, data pipelines, automation, reporting, and internal tools). We believe there's meaningful upside in leveling this up through better architecture, cleaner data, thoughtful UI/UX, and scrappy prototyping.
The other ~25% is investing exposure: supporting fund evaluation and diligence of tier-1 VCs. You'll be able to sit on pitches with GPs and help us evaluate the quality of their portfolios and strategies. Bonus points for ability to have a perspective on the more technical products and companies.
This role comes with real autonomy. You'll have the freedom to bring ideas, test them quickly, and ship what works. If you're energized by agency and want to leave the term with a personal track record of "impactful things I built that measurably improved how my team operates," you'll fit right in.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Growth Ops (Core Focus)
Improve our operating system: CRM, pipeline, portfolio monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management
Design and implement automations across Direct Messaging/Email/Calendar/Docs/CRM
Build internal tools with strong UI/UX to reduce friction for the team
Clean/dedupe entities (GPs, funds, LPs), build enrichment workflows, ensure consistency across systems
Evaluate vs. build: test new products (CRM options, portfolio tools, AI copilots/agents), run pilots, measure adoption, and recommend what to scale
Document workflows and create "how we run" playbooks so improvements are repeatable
Investments (Exposure)
Support fund screening and diligence: fund summaries, competitive landscape, track record, technical reviews
Assist with IC materials (light memos / slides) as needed
Help monitor existing relationships: fundraising updates, key news, portfolio developments
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be an undergraduate student having completed at least 2 years of study in a computer science, design, data/analytics or STEM degree
Proven "builder" track record: hackathon projects, scripts, apps, automations
Strong analytical judgment with the ability to diagnose complex, unstructured problems and translate them into clear, scalable solutions and workflows.
Comfort with ambiguity and a strong sense of ownership: able to take an idea from concept to prototype, incorporate feedback, and iterate to a second version; without requiring fully defined requirements upfront.
Nice to haves:
Prior co-op/internship in venture, startups, growth ops, product, engineering, design
Network / Familiarity in VC
LLM tooling experience (prompting, evaluation, agents)
API, webhooks, automations, basic ETL concepts
