Front Desk Administrator

$24 – $24 HourlyChicago, Illinois, United StatesPart-time3w ago

Drive Capital is a venture capital firm focused on backing the next generation of category-defining technology companies across North America. Founded in 2013, we’ve invested in more than 150 startups across the U.S. and Canada, including Duolingo, Root Insurance, ApplyBoard, VAST Data, and Thoughtful AI. Today, we manage over $2.2B in assets.

Our team includes former founders, operators, and investors united by a shared belief: exceptional companies can be built anywhere. Drive has helped shape the technology ecosystem between the coasts – and our Chicago office plays an important role in that mission.

The Chicago office serves as a hub for our local portfolio companies and the broader startup community. We host regular meetups, founder gatherings, and investor events, and take pride in creating a welcoming, high-quality environment that reflects Drive’s position as a leading venture firm outside Silicon Valley.

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive part-time Front Desk & Office Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of our Chicago office. This person will be the face of our Chicago office and a key partner in ensuring the space runs smoothly and events are executed seamlessly.

The ideal candidate thrives in an in-person, hospitality-driven role and genuinely enjoys creating a polished, welcoming environment. They stay organized, anticipate needs, and proactively manage logistics. This is a 20-30 hour per week position, with scheduling flexibility to align with our event calendar.

Event Support

  • Help prepare the space prior to events (setup, signage, food/beverage organization)

  • Coordinate with guests or vendors in advance of events

  • Be present during events to support attendees and ensure smooth execution

  • Assist with light teardown and rest after events

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience in front desk, office admin, hospitality, or event support preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining organized, clean environments

  • Comfortable interacting with founders, investors and professional guests

  • Highly responsive and proactive; strong communication skills

  • Reliable and consistent in follow-through
