The firm operates a global remit and does not limit its portfolio to any particular protocol.

Structurally, dlab operates as a standalone fund that began within SOSV in 2018, with SOSV remaining anchor limited partner. The firm describes its approach as discovery-stage venture capital, combining capital with practical operating support.

Its principal programme, the dlab Venture Program, pairs pre-seed and seed funding with feedback and review sessions, mentor connections, and assistance with product architecture and design, user experience, business development and fundraising strategy.
