Conductive Ventures backs unconventional founders building companies with AI at their core. We believe the best founders do more with less — they turn small teams and lean infrastructure into outsized leverage. We back founders who build that way from day one: operators, not fundraisers, who obsess over fast customer payback, defend strong unit economics, and treat doing more with less as a discipline, not a constraint. We're especially drawn to AI-native companies who are using this transformational technology shift to do what used to take entire teams with a fraction of the headcount. We invest early — primarily Seed and Series A — where this operating discipline matters most. We have over 30 portfolio companies including CSC Generation, Empowerly, EvolvedMD, Kalshi, MoeGo, Motive, and Self Financial, with 11 exits - most recently Ambiq (NYSE), Jackpocket (acquired by DraftKings) and Resident (acquired by Ashley Home).

We are looking for an investor to join our team and support us across all responsibilities at the firm, and who is especially excited to help us source the next generation of AI founders. In return, you will get exposure to all aspects of venture capital and a rewarding learning curve. The person must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

Source the next generation of unconventional entrepreneurs

Go deep into emerging industries in AI and develop investment theses. Build and use your network to get in front of founders early, and stay proactive about outbound. Serve as our first point of contact and filter inbound opportunities. Meet frequently with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and company executives to expand your network and build long-term relationships.

Lead diligence efforts and shape deal terms

Build investment theses around certain industries and companies through researching industry dynamics, and analyzing complex data sets to identify crucial financial and business information. Draft investment memos with data and analysis to support prospective investment decisions.

Stay on top of AI trends

Be our finger on the pulse on AI. You'll get hands-on with new tools, build prototypes and internal workflows, and turn that firsthand knowledge into a real edge for our sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support.

Help our CEOs win

Work directly with founders on the strategic and operational challenges that come with scaling - org design, hiring, compensation, financial reporting, sales execution, and product roadmap prioritization.

Build Conductive from the inside

We're a small firm, which means everyone contributes to how we show up externally. You'll help create media and thought leadership - social media content, blog posts, podcast content, white papers, event programming - that reflects our point of view and keeps us visible in the markets we care about. On the operational side, you'll own our CRM, keeping deal tracking and competitive intelligence sharp, build internal tools with AI, and manage LP reporting.

Benefits

We will trust and empower you as we do our CEOs: Our entire team gets involved in all parts of the investment process, and we run on communal trust. You’ll be encouraged to speak up, attend external meetings and own a workstream the way we trust our CEOs to run their businesses.

You will get exposure to ALL parts of venture capital: This is not a role where you’ll be working in a windowless basement simply crunching numbers. We provide autonomy and will give you every opportunity to learn all parts of the venture capital business.

Our network is your network, and you’ll build your own: The firm’s networks will become yours. As you build and strengthen that network, all we ask is for you to leverage it to find new investments. This network will be yours forever.

You’ll receive competitive compensation and a rewarding learning curve!

Our ideal candidate:

Must have 3-5 years of work experience including an operating role at a startup or tech company. Is energized by outbound sourcing and the hunt for great founders — has a track record of sourcing companies directly and brings existing networks into early-stage founder and investor communities. Has a genuine feel for founder talent and is developing sharp instincts for what separates great teams from good ones — especially valuable at the seed stage, where there's little financial history to lean on and judgment on people matters most. Understands financial statements, can build financial models, problem solve and go deep into emerging sectors as we evaluate investments. Investment banking experience is a plus. Is passionate about AI technology, regularly tracks its developments and has built new products using AI tools. Is approachable, optimistic, authentic, and easy to connect with. Treats the firm as if it were their own business and can be a self-starter.  Is open, flexible, and intellectually curious, with good listening skills and is detail-oriented.
