COLOPL NEXT is the corporate venture capital arm of COLOPL, Inc., the Japanese game developer. Founded in 2015, it invests in both startups and publicly listed companies, drawing on the parent company's experience in building user-first consumer products. Its stated mission is to help create a world that is more enjoyable and wonderful in everyday life.

Two distinct investment lines sit under the firm. Startup investments target emerging technologies, B2C services, entertainment and young entrepreneurs, with capital deployed across Japan, the United States and South Korea; support is hands-on, provided by members with investment-management and entrepreneurial experience. The public equity line selects listed companies, primarily in Japan, on criteria of growth potential and shareholder-friendly track records. Sector coverage spans emerging technologies, XR, AI, security, blockchain, gaming, lifestyle services, and media and content.

Through COLOPL, the firm has access to a network of more than 200 portfolio companies, exit entrepreneurs, investors, advisers and support organizations. As a CVC, COLOPL NEXT operates without a conventional fund structure disclosed in its own materials.
