About Boson Ventures
Boson Ventures is an AI-first deep tech VC firm backed by the Victorian Government, investing at the intersection of Australia and Greater China. We back early-stage founders in healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and clean tech — and we bring a genuine Asia-scale network to every company we back.
We run two interconnected business lines: Boson Ventures (our ESVCLP fund) and Boson Collider (Australia's first VC-led deep tech pre-accelerator), funded by LaunchVic. Both are built on the same thesis: Australian deep tech, scaled through Asia.
About Boson Collider
Boson Collider is a 12-week, fully non-dilutive pre-accelerator for Victorian deep tech founders built around three pillars: Industry & Market Access, AI/Robotics/Automation capability-building, and APAC Growth — including a 3-month Asia Landing Pad for qualifying teams.
Cohort 1 launches in October 2026. The program is LaunchVic-funded, with KPIs including ≥26 participants selected and ≥20 graduated across two cohorts, two Demo Days, and a clear path to self-sustainability by Cohort 3 (2028).
The Role
This is the operational and ecosystem heart of Boson Collider. You will own everything from cohort recruitment and curriculum delivery to founder experience and strategic partner relationships — while serving as Boson Ventures' primary interface with the broader Victorian and Australian deep tech ecosystem.
This is not just a coordinator role. You will set the rhythm of the program, represent Boson externally, and build the relationships — with universities, accelerators, corporates, mentors, and founders — that make both Boson Collider and Boson Ventures a destination for the best deep tech talent in Australia.
What You'll Own
1. Boson Collider Program Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of two cohorts: recruitment, selection, 12-week curriculum, Collider Sessions, technical residencies, Demo Days, and LaunchVic milestone reporting
- Manage the full founder experience from application through to 12-month alumni support — you are the founders' primary champion inside Boson
- Drive the Asia Landing Pad for qualifying teams, leveraging Boson's Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Yangtze River Delta (YRD) networks
- Deliver against LaunchVic KPIs and manage the full reporting cycle: Project Plan, Progress Reports, Final Report, and Grant Acquittal
- Build Boson Collider toward self-sustainability by Cohort 3 through corporate sponsorships and strategic partnerships
2. Partner & Ecosystem Relationships
- Own and develop relationships with technology and industry partners — including global names such as Alibaba and HS Robotics, with an expanding international partner pipeline across healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and clean tech
- Build and deepen Boson's university relationships across Victoria — including Monash, University of Melbourne, RMIT, and others — with a focus on TTO and commercialisation offices, research groups, and faculty networks
- Recruit, onboard, and coordinate 8–10 Lead Mentors per cohort alongside track-specific advisors; maintain a high-quality, engaged mentor network across the program lifecycle
- Represent Boson at ecosystem events, university forums, accelerator networks, and government engagements across Victoria and nationally
- Serve as Boson's primary relationship holder with Innovative Victoria and other relevant government stakeholders
3. Deal Flow & VC Support
- Surface high-quality deep tech deal flow through ecosystem relationships — with a particular focus on university spinouts and accelerator alumni
- Support investment due diligence where ecosystem or program context is relevant
- Connect portfolio companies to the ecosystem: industry partners, potential customers, talent networks, and follow-on capital
4. Fund-Wide Support
- As a small, high-leverage team, all roles at Boson contribute across the firm where needed — this may include supporting LP events, marketing initiatives, strategic projects, or other fund priorities as they arise
Who We're Looking For
Must-Haves
- Demonstrated experience running an accelerator, pre-accelerator, university innovation program, or equivalent multi-stakeholder initiative — with hands-on ownership of operations, events, and participant experience (not just strategic oversight)
- Strong founder-facing instincts: credible to technical founders, able to challenge and support in equal measure
- Genuine comfort with deep tech subject matter across at least one of: healthcare, advanced manufacturing, clean tech, or AI/robotics
- High AI literacy and hands-on fluency with modern AI tools — Claude, Cowork, Cursor, or equivalent agentic AI products. Boson Collider is an AI-first program; the Program Manager is expected to lead by example
- Excellent operational discipline: owns timelines, partner commitments, and compliance obligations without dropping balls
- Strong structured thinking and problem-solving ability — you break down ambiguous situations, identify root causes, and drive toward clear solutions without waiting to be directed
- Highly organised with strong time-management discipline — a consistent bias toward action over deliberation
Highly Regarded
- Prior experience as a founder, early-stage operator, or VC analyst in deep tech
- Existing relationships in the Victorian innovation ecosystem: universities, CSIRO, Innovative Victoria, corporates, or accelerators
- Asia exposure — particularly Greater China or Singapore
- Bilingual English + Mandarin (the working language is English, but Mandarin is a genuine advantage given our Asia thesis)
- Experience working with government funders: LaunchVic, IIF, MRFF, or Breakthrough Victoria
- Science background — life sciences a plus
What You'll Get
- A full-time role with genuine ownership — not a coordinator position. You will have the opportunity to shape Boson Collider into a durable, decade-scale institution in Australian deep tech.
- The full weight of the Boson platform behind you: GP team, portfolio companies, LP network, and Asia relationships from day one.
- High autonomy and a direct seat at the table within a small, high-trust operating team.
- As Boson scales, high-performing team members have a genuine path to take on broader responsibilities — including deeper involvement on the investment side.
- Participation in Boson's carry programme — all team members share in the fund's carried interest through an internal allocation mechanism, aligning the whole team with long-term fund performance. For this role, allocation is linked to deal sourcing contribution.
- Competitive remuneration and equity options for the right candidate.
