We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Brandenburg's Förderbank ILB. As a public venture capital company with a stable corporate environment, we ensure a strong equity base for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in Brandenburg so that they can grow safely and sustainably. The Seed and Growth Fund, currently worth around 100 million euros, is available for this purpose. The Seed and Growth Fund, which has been set up on behalf of the Brandenburg State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, is currently financed with capital from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and ILB's own funds. Together with our co-investors, we have invested about 895 million euros in Brandenburg's dynamic companies since 1993. We see ourselves not only as an investor, but also as a strategic sparring partner. We actively support our portfolio companies on their way from startups to international players. Our main expertise lies in supporting early-stage tech startups in their first crucial decisions: from setting up a finance department to the first executive hires. As a VC firm with people on the ground in Cologne, Berlin, and Munich we have a deep-rooted network in the German tech scene. We always form our own opinion and we even tend to get skeptical when things are hyped. But once we’re convinced of a business idea, we give it everything we’ve got. in sparring not steering: We do our best to be active partners, coaches and mentors on an equal footing. But at the end of the day, nobody knows their product, company and market better than the founders.
