Balnord is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in frontier and dual-use technology companies, primarily founded in the Baltic Sea Region. Its stated objective is to strengthen Europe's technological autonomy and reindustrialisation. Sector focus spans space technology, healthcare technology and industrial resilience, alongside the broader dual-use and defence technology category.

The firm invests through its first fund, which targets pre-seed and seed rounds. Balnord leads or co-leads initial rounds, with initial investments of €500,000 to €3 million per company and follow-on capacity of up to €12 million per company. The fund had a target of at least 22 portfolio companies; around €13 million has been invested across 10 companies to date. Its €70 million fund target has been exceeded.

Geographically, activity covers the Baltic Sea Region - including the Nordics and Baltics - with presence extending to Poland, Germany and wider Europe.
