Avid Ventures

Avid Ventures invests in early-stage companies and works closely with founding teams.

Avid Ventures began with a realization from investor Addie Lerner Katz: founders could benefit from the growth-stage experience and practical support of an institutional investor much earlier in a company's life. After working at General Catalyst, General Atlantic, and Goldman Sachs, where she helped deploy capital across fintech, consumer, and software businesses, Addie founded Avid to bring that perspective directly to early-stage company building.

Based in New York City, Avid is a boutique venture capital firm that backs founders building transformative technology companies, investing as early as the idea stage and often before a company has its first design partner or is incorporated. The firm intentionally stays small so its partners can work closely with founders, helping with strategic finance, growth modeling, hiring, customer and partner introductions, and connections to investors and advisors. Avid invests in areas including fintech, software, and consumer technology, and describes its role as an extension of a founder's team.
