Arts Alliance Ventures

London-based venture firm and company builder (founded 1996) that invests post-prototype and supports founders operationally across media, education, consumer services and technology.

Arts Alliance Ventures is a London-based venture firm and company builder founded in 1996. It invests at an early stage - typically once founders have identified a problem and built at least a prototype of a product or service - and works with them to scale the resulting ventures as independent companies. Since 1996 the firm has advised on investments in more than 60 companies, spanning media, education, consumer services and technology. It also founds companies within Arts Alliance itself, rather than investing exclusively in externally created businesses.

Operating cadence is deliberately concentrated. The firm runs only a handful of projects at a time, directing capital and team resources where it believes it can make the greatest difference. Because it is not constrained by fund lifetimes, it can support portfolio companies over an extended period rather than to a fixed exit horizon. Beyond capital, the involvement is operational: the team helps recruit key people, contributes to strategy and brand development, and takes seats on company boards.

Hands-on participation extends to interim operating roles - team members may step into positions such as CFO, head of product or legal counsel within portfolio companies. That model implies a small team with broad functional range and a willingness to move between advisory and operating work. Roles at the firm therefore combine investment judgement with direct execution support to founders.
