We are a boutique Venture Capital (VC) firm with fund commitments totalling c.$400m. This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. You will play a key role in managing the Fund Manager accounts and supporting the wider finance function across our UK, South Africa, and USA offices.
Role Dimension
The role requires strong knowledge of double-entry accounting and experience with VAT returns (partial exemption). While your primary focus will be on the fund manager accounts, you will also gain exposure to fund accounting and compliance processes, making this a dynamic and varied position.
Key Responsibilities
Input monthly management accounts for the Fund Manager in a timely manner
Maintain accounting records in Xero for South Africa and USA entities
Prepare VAT return submissions using the partial exemption method
Update fund schedules including share certificates and management fees
Support the annual fund manager audit, liaising with auditors to ensure smooth delivery
Prepare FCA returns for submission
Compile expenses analysis and drawdown summaries for LPAC meetings
Provide quarterly information for the depositary
Distribute tax returns to LPs
Assist with compliance processes, including submissions to third-party advisors
File statutory returns with Companies House
Undertake other general accounting and administrative tasks as required
Experience & Qualities
Ideal AAT qualified or part-qualified
Minimum three years’ accounting experience, ideally within a fund or investment environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with Xero accounting software (preferred)
Strong time management, organisational, and communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
