Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead financial operations across the firm's management company and related entities, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee corporate accounting, treasury, cash management, firmwide consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, expense accounting, and financial systems.
- Manage monthly closes, maintain accounting controls, and lead treasury operations and liquidity across a complex multi-entity structure.
- Oversee firmwide budgeting and planning, and strengthen expense accounting.
- Own the financial systems architecture and the Workday financial roadmap.
- Drive automation and process modernization across the finance function.
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team.
Required Qualifications
- CPA required.
- 12+ years of experience leading accounting, treasury, financial operations, and/or corporate finance functions in investment management, private equity, or venture capital environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing senior finance leaders and navigating operational scaling and systems modernization.
The salary range is $347,000–$405,000, plus eligibility for a16z's carry program and discretionary bonuses, along with health benefits, 401(k), and paid leave. This is a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week on-site in Menlo Park or San Francisco.
