Amplify Partners
Venture capital firm investing in technical founders and early-stage technology companies.
Amplify Partners began in 2012 with a belief that engineers and researchers with firsthand knowledge of difficult technical problems could build the next generation of important companies. At a time when technical founders were not yet an obvious focus for venture capital, Amplify set out to be an early investor and committed partner to these builders. Its early investments included Datadog and Fastly, and the firm has since backed companies such as dbt, Temporal, Chainguard, Runway, and Modal.
Today, Amplify invests in technical founders building applications, models, tools, and infrastructure, including work across developer tools, data, AI and machine learning, and cybersecurity. The firm says it leads investments from a company’s first round through Series A and supports founders as they grow, with a focus on working alongside engineers, researchers, and scientists. Based in the Bay Area, Amplify is investing from its sixth fund and continues to center its work on the people building technically ambitious products.
