Role Description

This is an immediate opening for "The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)" in a full-time role responsible for continuing overseeing Advaita Capital’s compliance program. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring regulatory developments affecting venture capital and investment activities, maintaining and updating compliance policies and procedures, and conducting periodic risk assessments and internal audits. The CCO will review and approve marketing materials, investor communications, and fund documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards. This role also involves training team members on compliance obligations, managing regulatory filings and examinations, and serving as the primary liaison with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies. The CCO will collaborate closely with investment, finance, and operations teams to embed a strong culture of ethical conduct and regulatory discipline across the firm. This role will work closely with CEO, investment team, CFO, 3rd party top compliance team, 3rd party counsel team, tax and audit team. This is senior role in the firm with high visibility.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance skills, with experience building and leading compliance programs in prestigious VC RIA funds or investment management growth equity funds.
  • Must have entrepreneurial mindset and can work independently without daily supervision. Must have strong integrity and market reputation.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant time in venture capital, private equity, or a related asset management environment; CFO or senior controller experience at a VC fund which was RIA is strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in venture capital growth RIA compliance and investments.
  • Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills and Finance knowledge to assess regulatory risk, interpret complex rules, and support investment and fund operations decision-making.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including the ability to explain regulatory requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders and to prepare concise, accurate documentation.
  • Relevant qualifications include prior leadership experience in a CCO or senior compliance role, familiarity with SEC and other U.S. regulatory frameworks, and experience in private funds, venture capital, or asset management.
  • Advanced education such as a bachelor’s degree in law, finance, or a related field (JD) strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work on-site as needed in Boston, NYC or SF. Ivy League Degree preferred.
  • Need strong legal background and flexibility to work as in-house counsel with the help of outside counsel will be preferred.
  • Will be working closely with in-house FT CFO, outside compliance team that consists of two SEC former examiners.
  • Strong communication skills are must.
  • Must have understanding of technical VC investing, VC landscape with network and rolodex.
