We have two positions open. Kindly note that these are full-time positions offered in Winter 2024.
The Team:
BDC Capital’s Growth Venture Co-investment Fund (GVCF) targets late-stage innovation-based Canadian businesses that show strong potential for meaningful scale. Our team and network give entrepreneurs the structure and strategies to build markets worldwide.
The Role:
You will have the opportunity to work closely with GVCF investment professionals across Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, primarily supporting various aspects of the transaction process.
Opportunities & Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on new and emerging technologies, sectors, and trends.
- Pull together, organize, and centralize data across multiple sources.
- Research and apply best practices on data cleansing and analytics to applications in the investment process.
- Be involved in thoughtful dialogue and discussions on potential investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels inside the broader BDC organization.
- Learn about the application of disruptive technologies to new and emerging sectors.
- Gain exposure to tech-enabled business models across different industries.
Requirements:
- Studying finance, commerce, management, or engineering, at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Interest in and/or knowledge of Venture Capital.
- Data-driven, with knowledge of finance/accounting and startup metrics.
- Strong Excel analytical skillset required.
- Involvement in the start-up community and a desire to cultivate new relationships.
- A passion for technology demonstrated by in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technology innovations.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset.
- Registered to continue studies in Fall 2024.
