As we grow, the supply of talent must keep pace and critical to our success is an Investment Manager to join our Venture Finance team.
Your Role
As an Investment Manager at NLC you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in the healthtech sector. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, M&A, corporate finance or investment banking. The role requires strong expertise in consortium and syndicate building, as well as a proven track record of creatively structuring deals and driving successful investment outcomes.
Your Activities and responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end investment processes, including due diligence, financial analysis, valuation and negotiation.
- Build and maintain relationships with a network of potential co-investors, consortium partners, and syndicate members.
- Collaborate with entrepreneurs, founders, and external stakeholders to structure investment deals that align with strategic goals.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential investment targets.
- Assess business models, financial projections, and operational strategies to evaluate investment viability.
- Manage the due diligence process, including legal, financial, and technical aspects, to mitigate risks and maximise returns.
- Provide guidance to portfolio companies, leveraging your expertise and industry insights to drive growth and success.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting the healthtech sector.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or related fields.
- Proven experience in consortium or syndicate building, with a strong network of industry contacts.
- Exceptional financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation and deal structuring abilities.
- Creative thinker with the ability to navigate complex investment scenarios.
- Experience with biotech, medtech, digital health, or related sectors is a plus.
- Previous experience in family offices or smaller VC firms is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
