Venture Capital - Investor Business Development and Fundraising Principal

We are actively interviewing for a full-time, remote (US-only) Investor Business Development Principal. This is a senior individual contributor role that reports directly to William Abecassis, Managing Partner For this position, we seek an exceptional individual who will be at the forefront of driving our fundraising strategy at the firm by targeting family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and select institutional investors. Your efforts will play a pivotal role in achieving Braven's Fund 1 objectives with further exciting opportunities on the horizon, including additional funds and supporting a diverse set of portfolio companies.

You will also collaborate with other Braveneers, including Senior Partners including LizAnn Eisen, former Deputy Director of the SEC’s Division of Corporate Finance, Dr. Sean Khozin, a leader in life science development and data science, including experience at CancerLinQ, J&J, and the FDA, and Bradford Wilkins, recognized as one of the preeminent thought-leaders in Talent and Performance. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with our strategic advisory board members and founding teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and execute a robust fundraising strategy encompassing family offices of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and handpicked institutional investors. Your strategic thinking and execution will be instrumental in propelling Braven towards its fundraising milestones
- Nurture and cultivate relationships with potential investors, spanning family offices, institutional investors, and high-net-worth individuals. You will take the lead in the initial outreach process and continue to provide vital support throughout, helping to close deals in partnership with our Managing Partner
- Stay attuned to industry trends and key players, strategically positioning Braven within the competitive landscape. Your insights will enable us to stand out and align with prevailing market dynamics. There is potential for you to represent Braven at prominent industry events and conferences, fostering brand recognition and fostering connections with potential investors
- Act as primary point-of-contact for Investor Relations, proactively sharing our portfolio, strategy, and market positioning with both prospective and current investors
- Extend your support to our portfolio companies as they navigate their fundraising endeavors as well as actively look for opportunities to connect LPS/investors to interesting other opportunities
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in business development and fundraising roles, specializing in securing capital from institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals
- Demonstrated indisputable track record of raising capital within competitive fundraising landscapes
- Proven experience in fundraising, investor relations, or related roles , ideally within the venture capital or private equity industry.
- Exceptionally high emotional intelligence, thriving on building relationships with thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners. Your passion for networking will be an invaluable asset.
- Finesse at weaving compelling and authentic stories, adept at translating intricate concepts into compelling, innovative, and informative narratives tailored to diverse audiences.
- Ability to swiftly adapt to emerging challenges, rapidly acquire new knowledge, and seamlessly integrate into novel settings. Your consistent track record of exceeding expectations in diverse situations is paramount.
- Excels at bringing structure to ambiguity, prioritizing tasks, managing projects, and adopting a results-driven approach to work (testing, measuring, iterating)
- History of exceptional performance characterized by meticulous information gathering, incisive analysis, hypothesis formulation, rigorous testing, and the persuasive communication of recommendations.
