The BlueChip Venture Fund was co-founded by Dato PY Lai and Tim Chen, both senior executives with decades of experience in the high-tech industries, spanning international and Chinese markets.
Specializing in semiconductor investments, the fund will focus on IC design, advanced packaging, and equipment.
The primary objective of the fund is to catalyze investment to elevate Malaysia’s semiconductor industry along the value chain. With a strong foundation built over 50 years, Malaysia boasts a complete ecosystem. Opportunities arise from the changing geopolitical landscape, particularly the decoupling of the global supply chain in the semiconductor industry.
The BlueChip Venture Fund aims to attract foreign enterprises to Malaysia, leveraging their strategic advantages to develop enterprises in IC design, advanced packaging, and semiconductor equipment.
We advocate for these enterprises to IPO in Malaysia, fostering a deeper commitment to the local market. This integration into Southeast Asia while retaining international competitiveness will advance Malaysia’s position in the global high-tech industry.
