Overview
We are looking for an Investor to join our team in New York City. You will engage in a wide range of activities including supporting our investment and diligence processes (sourcing, market research, financial analysis) and helping our portfolio companies. You must be passionate about not only helping to build early-stage companies, but also leveraging data to drive investment diligence and research.

Starfire Ventures (formerly known as Serena Ventures) is an early-stage venture capital firm with 40+ portfolio companies to date, including Midi Health, Khloud, Rebel, and Esusu. We are currently investing out of our $111M Fund 1. Founded in 2021, we back companies that improve the lives of everyday Americans, including investments in healthcare, fintech, ecommerce, consumer AI, and SMB tech. Responsibilities
- Evaluate potential investments in early-stage companies through financial modeling, quantitative due diligence, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Research and distill data-driven insights by leveraging our platform, network and independent research.
- Assist in the preparation of fundraising documents, investment memos, and investor updates.
- Manage and document meetings with entrepreneurs, portfolio company management meetings, and general deal flow.
- Represent the firm at industry events and conferences and support the local entrepreneurial community through active involvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–3 years of full-time (post-undergrad) professional experience, including but not limited to management consulting, investing, or operations (preferably in an analytical/strategy capacity at a tech company).
- Superior analytical and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate an investment thesis and back it up with relevant qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Excellent proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment with incomplete data and little hand-holding.
- Authentic passion for the technology industries and a deep respect for entrepreneurship. A demonstrated presence in the technology and startup community is a plus.
- Strong relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Positive, “no task too small” attitude. We are a small team and everyone does what it takes to build our firm and deliver value to our LPs and founders.
